Founder & President
Sophfronia, a native South Carolinian, accepted Christ in her life at an early age but became fully committed at the age of 23 under the Ministry of Pastor Shelton Murphy – United Student Fellowship (USF) on the campus of North Carolina State University, where she obtained a Masters of Science Degree. It was at that time that she began to develop an intimate relationship with God, a giving heart toward others and a passion toward small group fellowships.
Seeds that were deposited in her life during her years of tutelage at USF began to spring forth when the first ladies fellowship was held at her home in 1996. From that moment on, she began to develop a heart after God and a desire to minister with compassion and love to women in small group settings. Hence, seven years later was the birthing of Women of Purpose Fellowship Ministries (WOPFM).
Currently, Sophfronia resides in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA and attends New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She is single but not alone, surrounded by her loving mother, Emmie R. Tucker, family and an awesome set of friends that help to make up the staff (listed below) of WOPFM.
Although Sophfronia’s first love is for the Fellowship, she also serves as Vice President of the Christian Women’s Investment Association of Atlanta and maintains a full-time job as a Software Engineer with an Aerospace company where she has worked for the past 13 years and in the IT field for over 15 years. In her free-time, she loves to travel, read, spend time with her family and participate in activities to stay physically fit. It is her future desire to stay open to God to be used by Him, as He chooses, for further ministry.
